Core service

Financial statements your lender, investors and the CRA can rely on.

We prepare compilation (formerly Notice to Reader) and review engagement financial statements for owner-managed businesses, lenders, investors and government programs.

Every set of statements follows Canadian accounting standards for private enterprises (ASPE) or International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), as your stakeholders require, and is backed by a complete working-paper file, so you can answer questions from your bank or the CRA with confidence.

FAQ

Financial Statements:common questions.

What is the difference between a compilation and a review engagement?

A compilation presents your financial information in statement form with no assurance; the accountant does not verify the numbers. A review engagement provides limited assurance through analysis and inquiry, and is often required by lenders for larger credit facilities.

Does my corporation need financial statements every year?

Yes. Every corporation filing a T2 return must include financial information (the GIFI schedules), and most owner-managed businesses prepare annual compilation statements to support it.

How long does it take to prepare year-end statements?

With clean, reconciled books, a compilation is typically completed within two to three weeks. Reviews take longer because of the additional analysis and inquiry procedures.
